The House in Good Taste
·
Elsie De Wolfe
103
In
this
room,
you
will
notice,
I
have
used
open
shelves
for
my
books,
and
the
old
secretary
which
was
once
a
combination
desk
and
bookcase,
is
used
for
the
display
of
my
little
treasures
of
porcelain
and
china,
and
its
drawers
are
used
for
papers
and
prints.
The
built
in
shelves
have
cupboards
beneath
them
for
the
flimsy
papers
and
pamphlets
that
do
not
belong
on
open
shelves.
If
the
same
room
were
pressed
into
service
as
a
guest
room
I
should
use
the
drawers
in
the
secretary
instead
of
the
usual
chest
of
drawers,
and
the
day
bed
for
sleeping.
