Modern Magic: A Practical Treatise on the Art of Conjuring
·
Professor Hoffmann
181
THE
MAGIC
SWORD.
A
CARD
BEING
DRAWN
AND
REPLACED,
AND
THE
PACK
FLUNG
IN
THE
AIR,
TO
CATCH
THE
CHOSEN
CARD
ON
THE
POINT
OF
THE
SWORD.--We
have
already
described
a
trick
somewhat
similar
in
effect,
in
which,
the
pack
being
flung
in
the
air,
the
chosen
card
is
caught
in
the
hand
of
the
performer.
The
trick
in
this
form
makes
a
very
good
prelude
to
the
still
more
surprising
one
which
we
are
about
to
describe.
